What Next? and the Art of Being Present

As I continue along the path and adventure of entrepreneurship, I have come to understand that, for me, it isn’t about notoriety or financial reward. I recognize that my journey is about self-discovery. I am getting to know myself in ways I could not have imagined otherwise. By embracing each step, each new experience, each moment of insecurity and feeling of insanity while expanding my comfort zone, every perceived setback or sense of inertia continues to help me understand myself more fully. I recognize it all as part of my path, and not an interruption. For me, strategizing or anticipating outcomes typically results in some form of comedy. I used to feel disappointment when what I thought I wanted (like a speaking gig or conference appearance) wouldn’t happen. Yet as I continue to release attachment to outcome and simply trust, I recognize that where I land – further surrendering to love and truly enjoying the moment – is exactly where I wanted to be in the first place. Don’t get me wrong – making plans makes sense. It provides a template — a strong foundation on which to focus and strive to implement. It’s especially critical in business, and I honor that.
