How are you feeling today compared to yesterday? Did the change of date on a calendar mean a fresh start for you? It’s about hope. Hope about the new page, the new attitude, and the new beginning a new year brings.
Today I woke up with a renewed spirit and sense of excitement. Last year (that sounds so funny to say…) we weathered another round of health challenges and yet another relocation. I’m glad those are all behind us. What about you? Is there something you’re glad is done and gone?
Do you have a sense of hope about this year? About your life? About your future? Did you know that you can have that hope every single day of your life? Did you know that you can turn your hope into reality just by choosing how you look at your life?
Try this Simple Step. Give thanks for what you have. Focus on what you do have and every time you start to think about what you don’t have, acknowledge the thought, “oh there is that thought again.” Then refocus back on what you’re grateful for.
Here’s an example from my life. “I am grateful that Jack is cancer free and healing.” When something happens and he can’t hear me (he has no inner ear due to the cancer surgery) we both get frustrated and I think, ” ah… there is that thought of lack.” Then I say, “I am so grateful that Jack is healthier than he’s been in a long time and he feels better than he ever has.”
You can focus on the blessings in your life. When you do you open yourself up to more blessings because you’re focused on what is good. Take it one Simple Step at a time and before long you’ll be living your dream of being happy. Keep hope alive, believe in yourself and know that you can do anything you focus on!
With love, Cheryl
