Keep On Keeping On

It’s easy to get frustrated and discouraged when life isn’t going your way.  Little annoyances become deterrents and pretty soon we’ve given up and then feel even worse about ourselves.  Have you ever felt that way?

Last week I spent most of the week dealing with companies that haven’t been transparent or forthcoming.  As a new author they seem to think that I’m just another sad soul who thinks that my book is the greatest thing since sliced bread, that I’m misguided and naive. I’m neither but I do believe that they need to be accountable.  It would have been easy to throw in the towel when these “experts” put me in my “place.”

If you truly believe in what you’re doing then no one, no one, gets to tell you that you’re wrong… naive or misguided.  That applies to business and personal situations.  The question though that you need to ask yourself is do you believe?  Are you committed to your adventure, your product, your service, your relationship, yourself?  You have to believe in what you’re doing or you’re going to allow anything or everything to stand in your way.  That’s not commitment.

Here’s a good way to look at it?  How would you feel if your partner or spouse told you that they were 99% committed to your relationship?  Would you want to know what happened to that 1%?  Would you fear that whatever that 1% was would ruin your relationship?

When you make a commitment you need to be all in or you’ll fall out.  That doesn’t mean you don’t adjust as circumstances change… you absolutely do!  New information, unforeseen events and others making different decisions of their own can and will effect how you proceed.  That’s called adapting and as you do you refine and improve your journey.  Think of it as process improvement!

If you believe in yourself, your path, your dreams… keep on keeping on!  Don’t let anyone tell you you’re wrong… and never let anyone tell you you can’t.  Because you can!
