We’ve talked about moving forward towards our dreams and how believing in oneself is a key to doing so. Now you know what you want and you know that you can achieve anything that you set your mind to… but…You are stuck when it comes to taking a risky step.
It’s not unusual to want to wait until we’re sure that everything will go off without a hitch. Even however the best laid plans can hit a wall. It’s all about control and most times we want to be “in control” especially when it comes to our lives.
The key to taking risks comes down to one big question. How much can you afford to lose it if doesn’t work out. This doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with money… though it could. For example if you want to go back to school can you afford to quit your job or would just cutting back on other responsibilities in order to accommodate your class schedule be the most that you’re willing to risk? If you answered “no” to quitting your job but “yes” to adjusting other responsibilities then you know that know that you are being conservative but still moving forward. If you answered “yes” to both you’re jumping in feet first and are prepared to deal with a radical change.
What’s important to understand is that moving forward with your dreams is a Simple Step. Whether it is a baby one or a giant one is totally up to you. There is no right or wrong way. The difference comes down to being comfortable with how you are progressing.
Remember that whatever your dream is… it is only part of this journey which is your life. When you achieve it there is another dream waiting to be pursued. The point here being that you can walk or you can run… either way as long as you’re moving forward you’ll achieve it. Savour the journey!
