Legacy by Design

I was talking to a few friends of mine.  We’re all in our mid-50’s and finally to that point in our lives where we have nothing to prove to anyone.  We’ve lived through trials & tribulations that our parents and grandparents could never have imagined.  We raised our kids, married, divorced, survived cancer, lost friends and family on 9/11, from accidents & disease and still we persevere.

What we know for sure is that we are resilient albeit a little slower sometimes.  We know the value of faith and family.  We are grateful for our friends and hopeful for the future.

At the core however we know that change is inevitable and yet we also know that we can no more imagine the future than our parents did 50 years ago.

And life is full circle.  We are born, we age, mature; harness our knowledge…yet we know that we are but a small part of an infinitesimal universe.  Life goes on.  In the end it our legacy that defines our lives.

What do you want to be remembered for? For the wealth that you have accumulated or your kindness?  For living your life to the fullest, happy & at peace or the turmoil you left behind?  Will you be remembered for your sense of humor or your insensitivity?  It’s up to you…

In every moment of every day you have the ability to change your life and your legacy.  If you don’t like where you are headed then change your course.

And that my friends if your Simple Step.

  • Become the person that you want to be remembered for.

It’s totally within your control and your power!
